Beacon Communities Announces Three New Executive Hires

The multifamily housing developer has appointed Nicole Clement to General Counsel,

Prabin Kanel to Chief Information Officer, and Sara Scarborough Graham

to Senior Vice President of Marketing

BOSTON – Beacon Communities today announced the hiring of three new executives across their leadership team. The new additions to Beacon’s leadership team are:

• Nicole Clement, General Counsel
• Prabin Kanel, Chief Information Officer
• Sara Scarborough Graham, Senior Vice President of Marketing

Nicole R. Clement has joined Beacon Communities as General Counsel. Nicole will lead Beacon’s legal function with primary responsibility for all legal and governance matters. She brings over 20 years of experience practicing law in the areas of real estate and affordable housing finance and development. Nicole most recently served as General Counsel for Rhode Island Housing and Mortgage Finance Corporation, an independent, quasi-public corporation and housing finance agency created by the State of Rhode Island in 1979. She previously held positions at Klein Hornig LLP and Holland & Knight LLP, both Boston-based law firms specializing in affordable housing and community development and served as law clerk to the Honorable Joseph F. Rodgers, Jr., Presiding Judge of the Rhode Island Superior Court. Nicole holds her undergraduate degree from Brown University and earned her Juris Doctor from the Duke University School of Law. She replaces Kathleen Sheehan, one of Beacon’s founding partners, who retired from her role as General Counsel ­December 31, 2020.

Beacon’s newly created Chief Information Officer role has been filled by Prabin Kanel. He most recently served as the Chief Technology Officer at Framework Homeownership in Boston. In his role as CIO at Beacon, Prabin will manage Beacon’s technology and information systems platforms, develop a formal IT strategy, and focus on technology innovation, cybersecurity, telecommunications and more. Originally from Nepal, Prabin earned a BS in Computer Information Systems from University of Nebraska at Kearney, and an MS degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Sara Scarborough Graham has joined Beacon Communities in the newly created role of Senior Vice President of Marketing, coming from eleven years as head of marketing at The Dolben Company. Sara has over twenty years of experience in the real estate industry, and will lead Beacon’s marketing, corporate branding, and communications strategies. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) Marketing Committee, and is a member of the NMHC OpTech Planning Committee, Zillow’s Rental Advisory Board, and the Multifamily Social Media Summit Advisory Board. Sara earned her BA from Colby College and holds an MA in Integrated Marketing Communication from Emerson College.
